The Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam was officially opened yesterday. The doors have been open to guests since April. The hotel is part of the Israeli Fattal Hotel Group, which now has three Leonardo hotels in the Netherlands.

Fattal sees the hotel in Amsterdam as “the next step in the international growth strategy.” Of the current 200 hotels in Europe and Israel, the Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam is the group’s largest conference hotel.

In Europe the group owns the Leonardo Hotels, the Leonardo Royal Hotels, the Leonardo Boutique Hotels, the NYX Hotels by Leonardo Hotels and the acquired chains Jurys Inn (United Kingdom and Ireland) and the Apollo Hotels in the Netherlands.

Alexander Kluit, Managing Director of Fattal Hotel Group for the Netherlands and Belgium, says in a statement: Almost a year ago, Apollo Hotels became part of Fattal Hotel Group. Since then, our portfolio has more than 1,500 rooms in the Dutch capital. The Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam is our new flagship hotel for meetings and events of all sizes, with which we join the top four conference hotels in the international business center of Amsterdam. “

New construction
The Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam is a new building, located in the Amstelkwartier and has 490 rooms. There are eleven meeting rooms for the business market.

The interior was designed by Andreas Neudahm, who has incorporated many elements that refer to the Golden Age in the Netherlands. The hotel’s restaurant, Vitruv, has a capacity of 400 place settings.

The other two Leonardo locations are: Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam City Center and Leonardo Hotel Amsterdam Rembrandtpark (a former Apollo Hotel). The Apollo chain now has twelve hotels.
